St. James' Senior School A-Level Results 2008
This year the Year 13 students achieved a fantastic 98% pass rate and 21% Grade A in the 2008 examinations.
Once again, we are delighted with these results, with many students achieving better than their predicted grades. The School achieved an overall pass rate of 98%, 21% Grade A and 55% Grade A and B.
Special mention should go to Tameesha Panchal and Stephanie Hall who did particularly well. The results of all of the students are indicative of the high quality of teaching and commitment of staff and students alike. Not only do the students deserve congratulations for their fantastic results, but we must also mention their dedication in all of the extra curricular aspects of school life that they participate in. Activities such as Duke of Edinburgh, the Choir, the School Production of Godspell, London Associated Board of Music and Dramatic Arts, the School Orchestra and local community work with organisations such as the Salvation Army have all helped them in gaining places at their chosen Universities.
St. James' is a non selective school and therefore the academic potential and grades achieved will vary from year to year. In relation to their achievement at GCSE level, the results at Advanced Level in 2008 indicated an extremely high level of value added. League tables, although important, are not the ultimate criteria on which we base the success of our students; the emphasis being on encouraging pupils to develop into well rounded successful individuals and achieve their maximum potential.
