Dedication to work is the fountain of learning

 Admissions

You are able to register your child at St. James' School at any point throughout the academic year. Throughout the whole school, staff and pupils spend a great deal of time with each and every one of our new pupils to ensure that, whether they join at the beginning, middle or even towards the end of a term, they settle in as quickly as possible.

Although St. James' School is nonselective, pupils entering either the Prep or Senior Schools may be required to take assessment tests in English and Mathematics before being accepted into the School. This is intended to assist staff planning, assess educational potential and to confirm that the child will be happy and thrive in this school environment.

Scholarships are available, depending on the stage of entry, for academic, musical and choral excellence (there are also all-round scholarships available). In addition, the School has a number of 'means-tested' bursaries available. Please contact us for details of these.

In addition to viewing a pupils' last terms school report, the Headteacher will usually like to meet and interview pupils before they are accepted at the School. Pupils with special needs are admitted, provided that the Head considers the School to be capable of meeting the needs of the child and that the child will be able to cope with the School environment.

If you are interested in finding out more about either our Prep School or Senior School, or to arrange an appointment to view the School, please contact Becky Lane at the main school office (01472 503260) for more information.
