 Jacobeans: News in Pictures

Old Boys Pay the Penalty

The Old Boys were faced with selection problems (unheard of!) for the deciding fixture, on February 25th, of this year’s three match series, with no less than 14 players to chose from.

Jacobeans had secured a thrilling 6 - 5 victory, back in October, 2005, whilst the Old Boys responded with an emphatic 4 - 1 win in the traditional Christmas fixture.

Schofield, Tarrant and Kumar all scored for Jacobeans, leaving Hampson to (coolly) stroke the ball past a stationary Pannell for victory.

The game had been very competitive but had been played, as always, in excellent spirit. Jacobeans had surprised themselves by coming back, so well, against a strong Old Boys team, whilst the Old Boys ‘squad rotation system’, of rolling substitutes, had probably ended up being their downfall. Another series of matches will be arranged for the 2006-2007 season and any Old Boy, or current parent, who is interested in playing should contact John Hampson.
