Dedication to work is the fountain of learning

 Amnesty International Youth Group

Why are Youth and Student groups so important?
Youth groups, like Saint James’, are key to Amnesty International's campaigning. Together they write thousands of letters on behalf of prisoners of conscience and other victims of human rights abuses. They hold hundreds of events such as publicity stunts at the launch of campaigns. They run school assemblies and have visiting speakers. Through concerts and sponsored events they raise thousands of pounds for Amnesty International.

When do we meet?
We meet Thursday lunchtime, at 1:15pm, for about twenty minutes.

What exactly do we do?
We write letters, plan activities, plan campaigns, draw posters… everything.

Who do we help?
We aid all those who cannot fend for themselves, those whose rights are being abused and those who face suffering, in any country around the globe. This is a Human Rights group which is against the death penalty, against violence to children and women and for the freedoms and liberties that every human should enjoy.
